Course Overview
The Acellus English I offers a comprehensive exploration of reading, writing, and critical thinking through a wide range of literary and nonfiction texts. The course begins with the study of nonfiction narratives and narrative techniques, progressing into narrative writing. Students then develop analytical skills through units on nonfiction analysis, short story analysis, and poetry analysis. Practical writing abilities are further strengthened with focused instruction in informational writing, rhetorical analysis, argument analysis, and argument writing. The course concludes with an in-depth study of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, providing students with a strong foundation in English language arts to support their future academic success.

English I Lesson Plans
