US History Homeschool Curriculum

The Acellus U.S. History homeschool curriculum gives students a well-rounded look at America’s past through engaging, easy-to-follow units. It starts with Reconstruction and the closing of the western frontier, showing how the country began rebuilding and growing after the Civil War. Students then explore the Industrial Revolution, immigration, and reform movements that shaped the nation.

As the course moves forward, they dive into key events of the early 1900s, like the Spanish-American War, World War I, and the Roaring Twenties. They’ll learn about the struggles of the Great Depression and how the U.S. became a global power during World War II and the Cold War.

Later topics include the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and the political and cultural changes from the 1970s to the early 2000s. The course wraps up with post-9/11 history, touching on terrorism, foreign policy, and America’s role in today’s world. Along the way, students build historical thinking skills they’ll use in future classes—and in life.
