General Chemistry
The Acellus® General Chemistry course introduces students to the fundamentals of chemistry—from atomic theory and bonding to stoichiometry, gas laws, acids & bases, and an intro to organic chemistry.
Homeschool Chemistry Curriculum
General Chemistry is a full‑year homeschool high school chemistry course, designed to introduce students to the core ideas of chemistry through clear explanations and hands‑on concepts. Early in the year, students explore why chemistry matters, practicing the scientific method alongside precision tools like SI units, dimensional analysis, and significant figures. These fundamental skills help build confidence in collecting and interpreting experimental data.
As the course progresses, students investigate atomic structure, the periodic table, and bonding. Examining how differences in valence electrons, electronegativity, and orbital configurations shape matter’s behavior. You will learn to balance equations, classify reaction types, and apply the mole concept to solve real‑world quantitative problems through stoichiometry and calorimetry exercises.
In the final stretch, students master the behavior of gases, liquids, and solids, including gas laws (e.g. Boyle’s, Charles’s, ideal gas law), intermolecular forces, phase changes, and colligative properties. This is followed by the chemistry of solutions, acid–base reactions (Arrhenius, Bronsted–Lowry, Lewis models), pH/pOH calculations. Also Taught are; elementary organic chemistry concepts like hydrocarbon structures and isomerism.

Online Chemistry Courses
With our homeschool chemistry curriculum, students will discover the structure of matter—from atoms and the periodic table to chemical bonding and states of matter. They will also be able to apply quantitative thinking in areas such as stoichiometry, gas behavior, solution chemistry, and acid–base reactions. Students will sharpen skills in precise measurement (SI units, dimensional analysis, significant figures), data interpretation, critical thinking, lab safety, and effective scientific communication. This online chemistry course builds a solid foundation in experimental reasoning and chemical principles. It prepares students for higher-level chemistry and STEM coursework while nurturing their ability to connect theoretical models to real-world chemical applications.
