This new Acellus® elective, Elementary Art, invites students on a captivating journey through the diverse world of art, delving into various artistic elements and styles.
Course Overview
Embark on a captivating exploration of the artistic world with the Acellus Elementary Art course. This dynamic and immersive experience is crafted to nurture creativity, foster a deep appreciation for various artistic elements, and instill an understanding of fundamental principles. Through a series of carefully structured units, students progress from exploring basics like line, shape, color, form, space, and texture to delving into advanced topics such as the psychology of color, proportions, and the distinction between realistic and abstract art.
Engaging students with hands-on projects, the course exposes them to diverse materials, techniques, and artistic styles. This approach, guided by Acellus instructor Laura Bally, broadens their skill set and cultivates a critical eye for assessing and appreciating artwork. The curriculum reaches its apex with a celebration of art and color, emphasizing the interconnectedness of these essential elements.
The final phase focuses on illustrations, seamlessly integrating writing and visual arts in mixed media projects. Students culminate their journey by creating a portfolio that showcases their artistic growth and comprehensive understanding of the diverse facets of the artistic world.
